Tekoa’s ministry journey began at just 10 years old, when she had a life-changing encounter with God. By the age of 16, she was actively pursuing ministry training and ordination, leading a youth ministry that transformed the lives of countless young people. During her college years at the University of Central Florida, she founded two collegiate ministries, Women’s Prayer Band and Men of Valor, creating a space for students to grow in their faith. Tekoa’s testimony is one of resilience and divine purpose. After losing her mother at 16 and her father at 17, it was her faith and church community that carried her through. This deep personal experience fuels her passion for preaching, mentoring, and empowering others to rise above adversity.
Beyond ministry, Tekoa is also a high-impact nonprofit executive and serves as the Executive Vice President of a national nonprofit advocating for high-risk youth across the U.S. and abroad. With over 20 years of leadership experience, she has helped secure millions in funding, expanded programs that serve thousands of young people annually, and influenced national policies on trauma-informed care and youth advocacy.
